Mondrian Composition T-Shirt
This classic T-shirt holds a fashionable secret - an artful and sleek design. Printed on left chest is a detail from Composition, a 1921 work in The Met collection by Piet Mondrian (Dutch, 1872–1944). It's a sly way to add a pop of color to an otherwise traditional T-shirt.
With its thick black lines and primary colors, the geometric mode of painting that Mondrian named Neo-Plasticism is today instantly recognizable as the work of this trailblazing artist. He saw the style as universal, with an emphasis on planar relationships that could extend to design and architecture.
